Sunlight House External Office Signage Built Up Illuminated Letters Brand Logo

Project Description

Working Together

Alongside architects and conservation specialist Atelier MB, we were tasked with ensuring the external signage solution was not only sympathetic to the architecture but also conformed to the planning conditions of the grade two listed building. This meant demonstrating the use of minimal yet removable anchor bolt fixings to secure the new signage into the façade.

Manufacturing & Installation

The external signage solution involved the manufacture and installation of painted dark bronze solid opal acrylic letters with embedded Sloan LED’s.

Opal acrylic was used not only as a cost-effective alternative to full built-up letters it was to achieve the partial edge illumination the client had requested. The illumination resulted in a soft yet sophisticated look during the evening hours. The letters were mounted to the high-level façade with a light-weight aluminium ladder frame which allowed also us to house all electrical feeds and only required a fraction of the number of fixings needed for individual mounting.

Sunlight house internal signage

The Internal signage solution was created from Quartz Bronze Rimex, the hand fabricated built-up branding was to be a focal point on the feature wall behind the reception desk. This sat with a bespoke tenant directory of clear acrylic, with vinyl to the rear and faces, on a minilinear railing system allowing each acrylic tenant panel to be interchangeable. The proposed materials and finishes were of the highest standards to ensure that the reception was one of the most noted in Manchester.

We also designed, manufactured and installed signage such as The Department of Coffee and Social Affairs the in-house café and coffee shop. An internally lit opal acrylic LED lightbox with black vinyl text and logo applied to the face and with floor level identifying numerals with each number fabricated out of Rimes Satin Electro Bronze with halo illumination to the rear.
