Mold Town Centre

Heritage Wayfinding Mold Town Centre

Sector – Hospitality & Leisure

Following a tendering process, isGroup become the preferred supplier to Mold Council and rural development agency Cadwyn Clwyd, to provide and install wayfinding signage in Mold town centre.

Project Delivery

Mold is an ancient market town with a great deal of history: from the discovery of the Bronze Age Gold Cape to famous sons of the town, such as Welsh novelist Daniel Owen. We were briefed to reflect this with illustrative interpretations. isGroup provided technical advice, designs and samples to help inform the clients’ decision making.

Our team delivered nine monolith signs, incorporating some of our in-house WAY2GO product features, and some L-shaped signs that provided the additional information and interpretation at key locations. The signs included mapping, directional information, ‘What’s On?’ posters and historical illustrations.

The illustrative interpretation has revitalised Mold’s history, and clear wayfinding information has helped the public enjoy the town centre experience. The positive reaction from both the local community and the Council led to a similar commission in neighbouring Flint.
