Welsh National Sailing Academy & Exhibition Centre, Pwllheli

isGroup deliver WAY2GO signage to welcome visitors and sailing competitors from around the World to the new Welsh National Sailing Academy and Exhibition Centre in Pwllheli.

Ellis Williams Architects approached isGroup with the brief to deliver an economical wayfinding solution to not only welcome visitors to the new sailing academy and exhibition centre, but also to link the location to the town centre and its nearby amenities such as the Pwllheli Marina, boat yard, restaurant and beach.

Project Delivery

Following several meeting with the design team, it was agreed isGroup’s WAY2GO signage range offered the best solution to meet the specification for the project and coastal environment.

Due to WAY2GO’s robust interchangeable panels, Ellis Williams Architects was able to customise the monoliths to meet the wayfinding requirements and incorporate their mapping and directional content, along with the existing Plas Heli brand identity.

The team produced a number of aluminium WAY2GO monolith signs at key points around the new site.

The monoliths were customised using a 2k matt brown paint finish to complement the anodised cladding to the new portal entrance to create a focal point the building. isGroup worked closely with architects, Ellis Williams on this project to finalise the mapping details on each of the WAY2GO monolith signs.

The maps sit behind a toughened glass panel positioned in the centre of the signs. Wayfinding information was applied to each monolith with premium vinyl and the monochrome Plas Heli brand logo was applied to the top panel.

The Results

isGroup delivered a customised Way2Go signage scheme for the new Welsh National Sailing Academy and Exhibition Centre (WNSAEC), ensuring visitors are welcomed with clear direction to and from the site and nearby places of interest. The team were able to incorporate the academy’s brand design into the signage, thanks to Way2Go interchangeable panels and materials available.
