Bringing Argoed School’s Vision to Life Through Signage

Argoed Primary and High Schools

A Collaborative Journey in Mynydd Isa

When Robertson Construction reached out to us to support the new Argoed School development in Mynydd Isa, it wasn’t just another project, it was a chance to contribute to a transformative educational space right on our doorstep. Commissioned by Flintshire County Council and designed by Sheppard Robson architects, the new campus merges primary and secondary education into a single, modern facility. As a local signage partner, we were proud to help shape the visual identity of this landmark build.

Understanding the Vision

From the outset, our role was more than just delivering signs; it was about understanding the architectural vision and ensuring every signage element complemented the look and feel of the new school. We joined planning meetings, reviewed Sheppard Robson’s proposals, and worked closely with the project team to translate design intent into practical, beautiful signage.

From Concept to Completion

We provided a full-service solution, guiding the project from initial ideas to final installation:

Design & Collaboration
  • Worked hand-in-hand with architects and contractors to refine signage concepts.
  • Developed bilingual Welsh/English designs to reflect the community’s identity.
  • Created samples and visuals to help stakeholders visualise the final outcome.
Manufacturing & Installation
  • Internal signage included door signs, WAY2GO directories, wallpaper graphics, window vinyls, and fire safety signage.
  • External signage featured built-up illuminated letters and crests, WAY2GO fingerposts, and low-level directional signs.
  • Traffic signage covered car park directions and safety notices.

Every element was crafted to be durable, visually cohesive, and fully compliant with bilingual standards.

Delivering Impact

Thanks to close collaboration and clear communication, we delivered a signage system that:

  • Enhances navigation and strengthens the school’s identity.
  • Met tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Reinforced our trusted relationships with Flintshire County Council and Robertson Construction.
  • Demonstrated our capability as a reliable, local partner for large-scale public sector projects.

Proud to Support Our Community

This project is a testament to what’s possible when local expertise meets shared vision. We’re proud to have helped deliver signage that not only serves a functional purpose but also reflects the spirit of Argoed School and its community.
