In 2017 isGroup was invited by Watkin Jones to quote for the signage works for a new build student accommodation development at Tower Wharf, Chester (the “Towpath”).
The external scheme included vertically hung brushed stainless effect composite aluminium flat-cut letters, heavy duty wall-mounted banner poles and brackets digitally printed on both sides and a Way2Go Fingerpost to help students navigate around the site. Way2Go is isGroup’s “off the shelf” wayfinding system that can be modified to suit specific branding requirements and provide a customised solution. To complete the external works, isGroup installed car parking signage in a brushed stainless finish with UV printed text direct to the face to complement the signage on the building’s façade.
Internally the scheme included a distinctive Reception Sign in birch plywood with invisible fixings and the front face painted and laminated. In addition, etched window manifestations and a range of directional signage made from clear acrylic panels with UV printed text to the rear.
A site survey pre-empted production and installation and a structural engineer’s survey confirmed the fixing details required The installation team required the use of high level access equipment to install the building lettering and banners. isGroup’s installation team are accredited for working at height. A full list of RAMS were sent for approval prior to attending site as is common practice.
