Cambridge Retail Park was in need of a revamp when isGroup was approached by a leading Architectural Practice with designs of larger entrance totems to accommodate the retail tenants.
isGroup manufactured a new seven-metre totem sign to improve the visibility of the park, which was achieved with an LED illuminated header section, displaying Cambridge Retail Park in its new brand and orange feature lighting on the sides. The sign was constructed from steel sections with aluminium cladding. Tenant logos were printed below the header, with the sides of each totem sign offering further opportunities to display the retail park’s brand lighting effects.
Always focused on offering the most cost-effective solution, isGroup recommended that the two existing totem signs be refurbished and updated to the new branding. Both totem signs were extended to seven-metres in height to have a consistent appearance with the new totem sign design.
In line with BS EN1090-2 standards, isGroup advised for exploratory work of the existing totem signs bases and completed None Destructive Testing (NDT) of the steelwork and welds prior to commencing design work for the refurbishment. This was to ensure the existing structure and base was able to accommodate the additional weight of the metal extension and additional panels.
