Anfield – New Stadium Signage
isGroup scored an exciting new project in August 2016, when Liverpool FC selected its architectural wayfinding totems and innovative Way2Go fingerpost system to provide directional information to visitors.
Providing a Wayfinding Solution
Working closely with Carillion, the main contractor responsible for the redevelopment of Liverpool FC’s Anfield stadium, isGroup took the original concepts from Planit-IE and provided CAD designs of its solutions to ensure the client was satisfied with the overall look and dimensions before manufacture and installation. The solution comprised two architectural wayfinding totems manufactured at isGroup’s Flint headquarters, using aluminium, glass and St. Bee’s sandstone.
The totems, which are situated within the pedestrianised concourse at the rear of the new main stand and include aluminium panels painted in Liverpool Football Club’s corporate colours, feature:
- Steel box section manufactured to meet BS EN1090-2 standards
- Concealed brackets to secure the St Bee’s sandstone
- 8mm reverse printed glass panels with changeable map detail
- Fret cut backlit aluminium panel
- Customised 5100mm height (standard totem height 2200mm/2800mm)
Modular Signage System
Additionally, isGroup also manufactured and installed four fingerposts from its Way2Go modular wayfinding system, which have been strategically positioned around the iconic stadium. The team completed installation of the signs ahead of the club’s first home game of the season, successfully directing fans to the Stanley Gate, LFC Museum, Hillsborough Memorial, LFC club shop and Stanley car park ever since!
